She was raised in the real estate business, being a second generation REALTOR. Her father, a Realtor for over 46 yrs, owned various homes on Palm, Star, Hibiscus and Sunset Islands; as well as developed commercial buildings and hotels on Miami Beach. His invaluable experience has provided Melissa with a plethora of knowledge in the real estate world.
For the last 24 years she has successfully used her training, background in communications, and cultural knowledge to effectively and efficiently communicate with her clients and negotiate their real estate transactions while being fluent in English, Spanish, & conversational French.
Melissa started her real estate career in 1998 on Miami Beach and as a Mortgage Broker for 8 years. First at Gerard International Realty, which later merged with Esslinger-Wooten-Maxwell and also with Wimbish Realty, which later merged with Coldwell Banker. Selling and listing everything from single family homes, condominiums to commercial and income producing buildings. After acquiring the experience and knowledge required, she went on to become a Broker and establish Lexan Real Estate in 2004.
The name Lexan was created with a combination of her first two eldest daughter’s names and therefore something very dear to her. She wanted to create a tailored real estate firm that would provide her clients with the personalized commitment and integrity they deserve. The same attention and respect is provided to all her clients regardless if it's a $50,000 or $50 Million dollar deal. This has been the hallmark of her success in this competitive industry. She is always available to listen to all of her customer’s needs, providing them with sincerity, honesty, and an ethical approach. The shift in the market over the years has allowed Melissa to expand her business throughout the State of Florida with set cooperation with colleagues across the state.
